B) John and Pete, I am going to have to talk with you guys tomorrow if you are available. Today is Sunday evening the 3rd. My truck just broke down again and it is at the shop broke down. I have to get it going as soon as possible. I think I can get it going tomorrow if all goes well. I will stop at Auto Zone tomorrow morning to see if they have the parts I need. I have another thing going on that I need to get both of you up to date on. I will call tomorrow morning after 10.

The flea market wasn't a complete loss but it wasn't great either. It will most likely take everything I made over the weekend to fix the truck again. But, at least I have enough as far as I know for now. We'll see tomorrow. Don't you just love it when a planed disaster hits on the nose? I knew I was working my butt of for some reason. I have also closed down the flea market selling. I was talking to someone about just buying the shop and everything in it for one money and be done with it. The guy seems like he may be ready to buy me out if we can come to some kind of fair amount for both of us. I am willing to let everything go very cheap and move on. He may be surprised at just how cheap I will let everything go. All I need to keep out of all of the stuff I have is some of my tools to work on my boat and whatever I am driving. I won't know how to act if I don't have ten tons of worthless junk hanging around my neck every time I try to do something. Actually, if I don't have all of the tools, parts, materials and whatever else I am carrying to work with I just simply can't get into doing anything. Besides, I will be to busy diving, fishing and cruising around the treasure wrecks and other dive sites I am looking forward to seeing and diving again. :woohoo: That's the ticket, you are right, Pete, I need to get rid of everything at one fell swoop and get back to living while I still can. Actually, I will most likely sell everything for whatever ridicules amount I am offered. I just want out.......fast!

Okay, Pete and John, I will most likely be at the shop between 10 and 11 after I pick up the parts I need for the truck. I'll try to give you both a call if this gray haired brain can remember to call.

  Pete, it is right where we put it next to the compressors. Not to worry, it will be there for at least a few more hours.  :silly: I mentioned getting it back to you to John the other day when he was here. I'll keep it here until you can get it or I'll drop it off to your house the next time I get over that way. Don't worry, it is perfectly safe where it is. I only use it to sharpen my apocalypse swords and knives. Oh yeah, and some fish hooks.

Ahoy Steve, it was great running into you too. I'll let you know when I get the Hatterass in the water and we can work on the engines. It may hit the water sooner than anyone thinks. I want to get out of here and get started diving before something else gets in the way. I find that as I get older by the day that there aren't as many days still out there that can be counted on. It is time I got this in gear. I need to get the boat in the water sooner than I thought and I want to get it running as soon as I can once it is ready.

B) John, I managed to get my test appointments changed for the time being. It took me most of the day at the VA to get out of the tests for next week but it is done. Give me a call after 10:00 whenever you can. I am going to run down to pick up I.R.Baboon as soon as I can but I have to know what our other plans are doing. If nothing else I can find a way to get to Key West on a bus or maybe with someone going that way later in the week. I will just have to find a way to come up with a couple hundred dollars or so for diesel fuel for the boat to make the trip up here from Key West. I looked into taking a Greyhound down. It would cost about $100 give or take a little. That would depend on food or any extras I encounter. I might even be able to catch a ride with someone going to Key West or somewhere near there. If the wife was up to driving the return leg I could run down with our little Toyota for about $30 each way but she is not up to it right now.

I want to get down to pick up the boat and do a little diving along the way up here. Who knows, maybe I will take a few extra days to do some fishing too. Either way, I am going to go bet Baboon and get it up here so I can take a little time off and go fishing, diving and just spend some time out on the water.

Anyway, give me a call later and catch me up on what is going on. Talk to you then,

I'll call you at 11. Pete was planning on riding down with you in your truck. I'm going to drive down by myself. Buying you diesel up here could save you some money. I'll call you later anyway.

The weather has been screwing us up ever since we got here and it is showing no signs of getting much better. It has been cold, windy and wet all week. We have another cold front heading here tonight and another one on Friday. I have no internet but found a W-Fi at a local restaurant for getting to my banking and writing this. I don't know when I'll be back on or even when I'll get home with the boat. I may be able to drive it north in a few days or so if all goes well.

SSSHHH, Johnny, :S  I had a good day today and I think the boat is going to hold together when I head out into big water. I still have to put the engine cover back together and a few other small things but I made a lot of headway today and I got a lot done. I am still trying to get the boat to the point that I am going to be able to drive it home. I am making headway and I expect to be out on the water tomorrow or Thursday for my shake down and make sure that the boat will act like a boat and not a submarine or landing craft and land on a reef. I found a Wi-Fi spot at the restaurant that I get Cuban coffee at. Why didn't I think of that last week?

:woohoo: Never give in and never give up.

Russ got back yesterday. He couldn't finish the Baboon so he took the ferry to Ft. Meyers and John drove him back to Bradenton.

B) Ahoy Y'All, Pete is right, I am back at home until after the holidays. It was getting to close to Christmas and I didn't want to be cruising up the coast and have a problem that would keep me from being back here. I would have liked to stay with Keith and Beverly but family here is counting on me and I needed to get back. I also had doctor appointments and testing that was put off before and needs to be done very soon. Like tomorrow morning! Today I have to run to the VA to pick up some meds that I have run out of. The doctor gets upset when I let that happen almost as much as I do.

The boat is almost ready but I had some issues come up with the fuel supply. The tank evidently has some sort of algae that is clogging up the filters and running the engine out of fuel. That is serious with a diesel. It requires a whole different procedure to restart a diesel than just refilling the tank. So, Keith said he would pull the tank and clean it while I took care of my doctor stuff and refilled my scripts and I will return after the holidays.

I went to the shop and repaired the damage on the Mustang's hood and got some color on it so it can cure over the next few days. I also have found two very hard to see dents in the right side of the car. It looks like someone has bumped something into it or something was just overlooked. I find it hard to believe that I missed two dents even if they are minor. I have been over that car hundreds of times fixing over 100 dents and scratches not to mention the whole rear end damaged by getting rear ended. Anyhow, the hood repair is looking good and should come super close to the rest of the hood provided I can find more of the same holographic metal flake that I just ran out of. I got online last night and ordered more and it should be here by the 28th. I'll need that to finish the color match on the spoiler and hood.

I enjoyed the time I got to spend with Keith and Beverly while I was working on Baboon. The ferry ride back up to Fort Meyers was interesting. Those 13,000 horse powered jet drives move that huge ferry like a speed boat. I didn't have a hand held GPS but I know from my experience with boats that it was running at least 30 to 35 MPH and the ride was smooth the entire trip. The close quartered maneuverability of the boat was also very impressive. My camera is not working so the only photos I have are in my phone camera and it will not let me send them to my face book or computer. I need to replace the camera and phone. I delay getting a smartphone because having a phone that is smarter than I am is stupid.

Okay, the wife has to get her car out of the driveway and my monster truck is in the way. I'll be back!........Later.

B) Another day at the VA and another blood test at the cancer center today. I have another series of testing coming up over the next couple of weeks. On the 8th of January I am going to start the testing that will determine which way we will treat this if I need to get back into a series of treatments. I also have to go thru a chemical heart stress test that I am not comfortable with doing. I mentioned that the numbers on my tests are getting a little out of line and the doctors want to be sure it is dealt with as early as possible if it is the same cancer coming back or if it is another type of cancer altogether. This particular type of cancer is known for coming back with a vengeance. The last time it came back, it came back very fast. My doctors are watching it very closely but I am still nervous. I am down by 85 pounds from what I was at that time. If I have to go into another chemo, surgery and radiation treatment series that costs me another 85 pounds I will be in a deadly battle. I can not afford to lose another 85 pounds. This morning I weighed in at 166. Regardless of how much I eat and how much protein and body building products I use, I am still not gaining any weight. I did come up from a low of 140 to the 166 that I am now but I have hit a weight wall and have stopped gaining any weight at all. Other than being a little more tired than usual and having this absolutely miserable constant backache I have been doing and feeling pretty good. I know I tend to overdo it and the trip to Stock Island was no different. Despite trying to slow down and take it a little easy I still tried to do more than I should have. Keith tried to slow me down and get after me when I tried to do to much by myself and when I was doing something stupid like lifting batteries and such but I tend to be a bit hard headed. One of the doctors thinks I may have a ruptured or damaged disc in my lumbar spine and wants x-rays or an MRI to determine if there is something there that needs to be dealt with before we go into these other tests or treatments. I just know that this lower back pain is very annoying and it sometimes gets me short tempered when I am trying to get things done and have this really irritating pain keeping me awake at night and unable to function at a lot of the things I need to get done during the day.

I don't know what I am going to be getting into until we get these tests done and determine what has to be done to deal with this cancer. What I do know is that I want to get Baboon ready and head up the west coast of Florida before I have to start the next round of treatments if it comes to that. The first radiation treatments left me really unable to do a lot of the work I needed to do. The chemo was also nasty and left me very weak at times but I did manage to work most of the time even if it was only for a few hours. I just have to wait a couple of weeks until I find out what way I have to go. Meantime, I will continue to clear out the shop and get rid of anything I can as I move along. As hard as I am trying I find that things are moving to slow mainly due to my having to rest and take breaks when I should be working. Sometimes I feel like those guys I would hire that would hide or pretend they were working when I came into the room. I just can't figure out how to get me to work more efficiently so I don't wind up firing me or quitting if I give me to much crap.

B) That's what I'm doing. I still need to allow curing time between coats, (I don't have a curing oven for heating the car to force cure the paint), and I have to do other jobs, work on getting the shop closed , work on repairs at home, whatever other things the wife dreams up and I still have to get the Hatteras and the Boston Whaler out of here. I have decided to not buy the Hatteras and the other boat has turned into another big problem due to the owner changing engine styles and size after I got the boat ready for the first engine. Then I still have to keep the car and truck running and the wife is on me about replacing the floors in the master bathroom and walk in closet. Both floors were damaged during Hurricane Irma from the corner of the roof being lifted. I repaired the roof but the water got into the walls and down into an already damaged floor that caused even more pressed wood to dissolve and now I have big metal road signs under the carpets to keep anyone from falling through until I have the time and money to fix it. Meantime, I have to listen to the wife every day about ripping out the floor or she is going to hire someone to do it. How she intends to pay for that I am confused with. The money would have to come from my income which is under stress and short now. I still have to get money paid back that I owe for other things. I will just have to take it one day at a time and just do what I can. That's the best I can do.
