Need some Help and/or advice 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago

My cousin and I have been racking our brains trying to figure some things out. My cousin lives on the Colorado River in Texas. We have searched his property for signs of treasure, which we believed to be there. Anyway, there is a maze of tunnels running under his property, parallel to the river. We dont know where the entrance is. My cousin has drilled holes with high pressure water. He knows that he is still drilling till the point that the water stops feeding back out of the hole, then he knows that he has broken through. His neighbor, also a cousin, probably 100 yards next door found a hole in their yard. They put a water hose in it and turned it on and left it running all day. When they got back they could find no signs of the water anywhere, not running back out of the hole or running out of the bank down by the river. We are very limited on funds, so how can we map the tunnels and then enter them to see if what we think is in there, is or not? It is our hopes to find someone with a small (pencil) camera that we can lower into one of the holes and get a look at whats down there. This area is known for indians, spaniards and the KGC. So it aint no telling what might be down there.
What can yall advice or help us to do?
Any body in Texas with a camera or suggestion? Or anyone willing to travel here?
Thanks Kerry

Hola eagle wings, the only thing that I can come up for the existance of the tunnels is that they might have been part of the system for hiding and moving escaping slaves north just prior to the civil war. Some places were very elaborate, naturally the entrances woud be well hidden since it was not considered quite cricket by the slave owners.

Hey Don, thanks for replying. Yes, it is very plausible that it may be a slave tunnel. My cousin who uses a dowsing rod, has found what we think might be brass cannons. Now, that would put the cannons around the civil war era. We are certain that there is some tunnels, we just hope there is some good stuff in there.

Why do you think they are bronze cannons? And if you are certain that you have tunnels, why dont you go in them? How are you certain you have tunnels? Or is all this just guessing?

Good point Steve. What you have could be underground caverns or an underground river that is dry or wet when it rains. If disturbed you could find yourself watching a sinkhole gobble up the ground or if you got down in them and it rained somewhere upriver you could be in for a washdown. It might be best to determine what they are first rather than assume they are escape tunnels or caves. I have seen gulleys turn into raging rivers without warning when the rains fell twenty miles away and the water wanted to run the wash. Just be careful and check into them very carefully before heading into them. When the water comes down the tunnel or wash it could be to late to change your mind.

Some Two Boxes will pick up voids, also dowsing rods as you say....Texas seems to have alot of tunnels....could be water washed away the limestone. Hill country has it's share of tunnels....some are suppose to be around the Fort in San Angelo....never heard of any near the Colorado river.....
Good luck. Watch for Rattlesnakes.

Hey Steve, good to hear from you. We think they are brass cannons. My cousin, who has done dowsing for 30+ years uses a single rod in one hand and a "witness" in the other. He has shown me when he has a piece of brass as a witness, he walks off 3 or 4 different places that measures 5 and 8 feet (I think) long. He then takes an old iron wheel and carries it as a witness and locates on both sides of the "cannons" what we think is the wheels. He does this every time, in the same exact spot. So, it may be nothing, but it may be something too. We are certain that there are tunnels because there is an entrance to one, but it is on another persons land, and it is above the High water mark. That is why we haven't gone in yet. Plus there has been kinda a feud between the neighbors for a long time.

Morning WF, hope all is well with you and the misses !!! As I was saying to Steve, my cousin has walked this property with his rod for a very long time and has found some very interesting things. I am at the moment trying to find someone who has a GPR and can come and help us see/map this system, before we go in. Cause I definately dont want to go in and have it cave my head in. You have a very good point, and I am exploring every possible solution. I have Dell and a couple of others also dowsing a photo for the tunnels. I am open to suggestions too !!!!!

Mornin to you TexasTee, Hot Aint it?!?! My cousin and I have researched this area at length, my cousin way more than I. We believe that this was used by both the KGC and the Spaniards. The Spaniards left "Owls" carved in a couple of trees. My cousin has a very interesting theory. He found on his place a black rock that shatters like glass, and is very heavy, and magnetic. We have never seen any rock like this in this area or anywhere in Texas. If you place a gold ring on the ground, with the dowsing rod and a regular metal detector, you can pick up the ring with no problem. Now, you place this rock next to the ring, it is like it disappeared. The metal detector will not pick it up, and the rods will not either. My cousind theory suggest that this rock was brought in placed around their treasures so that no one could find them with dowsing rods. The Indians and Spaniards were very knowledgable and tricky. This rock has yet to be identified. I sent some to a friend in Florida and he tried some expeirments and confirmed that these rocks have the ability to hide other objects. Pretty weird huh? Makes you wonder how many treasures are under our feet and we cant detect them.

I don't know if any of this falls under mineral rights law in Texas?? In Texas on person can own the land and another what is beneath it as I understand it. I would think it is only Gas and oil but I could be very wrong.
If you find the entrance, could you use a remote control car with light and camera for safety purposes?

We have thought of that too !!! I have recently thought about using a drain camera and lowering it into a hole that he drilled on the surface. That way we could get a look at the inside. We have lots of ideas but no money to make it happen, what a bummer !!!!

Hotter then all heck......catfish have to put on sunscreen.
As a kid I picked up some of this black glass...thought it was just Obsidian. I can dowse a little, hubby is much better but has a hard time getting around in rocky areas....I don't have anyway of knowing if the stuff I found as a kid is magnetic or not. I know of a Spanish helmet found in a town that is long forgotten called Tennyson, TX but it was a very, very long time ago and it should be proof that the Spanish walked all over Texas to have come that far inland.
Strange glass that no one can identify? Ever think about UFO activity?
Ever think about a UFO site?

Believe me, that was on the top of my suggestion list. Still might, not sure yet.
I wished that either myself or my Cuz'n had a metal detector. That would sure help in the elimination process !!!
