Just found the site. I've been hunting for about 5 years now... most of it underwater. Have many different detectors... Best sport/hobby i've found so far. Wishing you all good hunting.

Ah, but alas, no cannons thunder, no ships to plunder, no wayward ports to lay asunder... o what misfortune! The miserable fate of a pirate born too late. (Jimmy Buffett)

I am over in Hawaii. Spend most of my hunting time in the water... Sometimes underwater..scuba. Have found a lot of rings ... Good bad ugly...lol.. Lots of clad... Not many older coins so far... Have been able to reunite many lost rings with the original owners over the years. My wife hunts with me since the last year. She is also a great pirate like me always hoping for high surf to stir things up. Wishing you all great hunting luck. Aloha Mikey

Awesome! I spent some time in Hawaii back in the 60's. I tried surfing the North Shore of Oahu but when the surf tried to stomp me into the coral bottom I decided to refrain from riding the really big waves. I would rather go horseback riding along Diamondhead and dive the secluded beaches.

It would seem that Hawaii would have a lot of possibilities where the old sailing ships anchored when loading or waiting for cargo, food and water. Sailors tend to throw things over the side while sitting in harbor. They would usually anchor in 20 to 30 feet of water inside a protected harbor. It might be worth a look. Rich tourists lose a lot of things wile playing in Hawaii's rough surf and just sunning on those beautiful beaches.
