Who needs channel markers when you know that when you go over the falls you're not going anywhere else....

I will be heading back to home to Satellite Beach Florida on Friday for a short break to take care of some business, and to inspect the new roof that was installed on my home there.

It's been nearly three months since we made the move down here to Honduras, and living in hotels is starting to get a little old as I sure you can imagine. It will definatly be good to be home for a little bit and I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again.

While plans have not progressed nearly as quickly as I had hoped down this way, I am still somewhat optimistic that we will be able to set up shop on a more long term basis. However, only time will tell and we are looking at some alternative options just in case things don't work out as we have planned.

On our short list is Costa Rica, Belize, Nicaragua, Panama and of course back to Guatemala.

On a good note, I will be bringing Diver Lynn s dive gear back to Florida for her, just not in time for the mini Lobster season.

I made it back home to Florida late last night. Sure was good to sleep in my own bed once again. Damn it's hot and humid here!
I'm only going to be in town for about a week and a half, and have a bunch of stuff to take care of in a short amount of time, and hopefully a little time for some much needed rest and relaxation. Maybe some beach detecting, but I think that will be limited to some early morning outings.

Today is my last day in Florida, heading back down to Honduras early in the AM. This was just a short trip back and I did not get a chance to meet up with many folks this trip. It's been a busy hectic time as we change our strategy in mid stream, but I did get a chance to re-charge my tired old body.

Only going to spend a few days back in Honduras to pack up some stuff, and then it''s off to other parts of Central America for a while. Hopefully we will have some good change in our luck, since much of the Hondo gig has just turned out to be a bust for us thus far. However, not giving up on Honduras just yet.

In the mean time, there are tones of good treasure stories to follow up on from Central to South America, so a hunting we will go...

Tommy, In all seriousness, Do you think you can get a treasure salvage permit in the Honduras? I have the means to get one million dollars to finance a salvage operation there. The time frame is six weeks...

There is no way legally that I could accomplish that in six weeks. Their are several major obstacles that would have to be overcome, the first being that pesky UNESCO Underwater Cultural Heritage monstrosity that Honduras ratified. The second is because of the UNESCO convention, it is likely going to be extremely costly.
Then you are going to have to negotiate a contract with the Government of JOH, that is also within the spirit of the UNESCO Convention, and unfortunately that prohibits commercial salvage.

Not what I wanted to hear from you. I'll try another approach, Thanks.

Sorry John; had I been able to have spent the last 6 months in Honduras as was the original plan, I would have had the opportunity to to establish the necessary contacts and grease the appropriate skids. Had this been the case I think my response could have been more to the affirmative.

However, while it is problematic at this time, we are still working towards our original plan for a long term presence in that country, and with the New Year I am trying to remain optimistic that we will reach that goal in the not too distant future.

In the mean time, I wish you guys the best of luck with your endeavor.
