This is a pretty interesting story.. Anyone know anything about it?

Edwin Powell owned a silver mine and was very wealthy. Along with the mine proceeds, he counterfeited coins. Reports indicate he buried a large amount of silver coins in a place known as Powell's Fort, a natural fortress. He met an untimely death and his cache was never located.
A cache is reportedly buried near the Edwin Powell Silver Mine

Location

Natural fortress known as Powell's Fort in the Fort Mountains. Supposedly near Waterlick on the north edge of the Shenandoah Valley.
The mine cache description places it on Cardin Machine Branch (aka Hoot Owl Branch) north of Little Stone Gap near Norton.

The cache is supposedly buried under or near a large rock with either a horseshoe or a "C" carved into it.

Hello nmercer21

Thank you for the interesting treasure legend. I have not heard this story so I am all ears.

I will be calling in at treasure works from time to time when able. I am cruising the South Pacific.

Camouflage it to look like an old garbage dump. Ie old rusting tin cans, bones junk etc. This was often done in old Mexico. Jose
