Here is a treasure legend from wild and woolly Alaska.
Near the Yellow River is the Lake of the Golden Bar. Three prospectors worked the lake for 5 years in the 1880s. Late in 1884, they buried about 500 pounds of nuggets in a nearby cave. They became trapped in a blizzard and eventually food for the grizzlies. One of their diaries was found near their remains that mentioned to gold. There has been no evidence that the gold was ever reported found.
The gold is allegely hidden in a cave some where in the St Elais Mountains.
