Watch for a Red underline on a mis spaled word, then right click on the word and get the correct spelling.

It makes me look real smart. Dell

Jeff, like Dell said just Right Click on any word that is underlined in red and that will give you spell check for that word. I am looking for more Smileys and also collecting new treasure hunting Avatars for profiles.

I just have Atty spell check. I'm hoping he will take over the typing if I can get him to stop poping the keys off and walking on the keyboard.

If you are the person that started a thread you can delete the first post and that should delete the thread.
To delete a post, you should see a delete and edit button in the lower right hand side of the post you made. Just click on the delete button and follow the instructions.
If you have any problems doing this you can send a email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will be happy to assist. Be sure to provide the post number (located just above your profile picture).

I hope that helps!

:cheer: Hey You, Bill, Just use the edit button and remove the part or the entire post and put a smiley in it and re-submit it. That removes everything and you can change or add anything you like. B)

Thank Russ, I was aware of that one, and have used it heavily (my fingers get ahead of my mind).

I thought Tommy was alluding to a function we could use to actually delete the posts that are messed up, rather than leave the empty post.

As administrator he probably sees the function. Generally there are settings on forums such as this that will allow the admin to control the functions available to users, and I just wanted Tommy to know that we're not seeing the same picture he alluded to.

Not a big issue, but an actual delete would be much better than the edit. I know of several of my posts I would prefer no one else had seen.............

Tell Shereen I said hello! She has my sympathy with all you guys picking on her over zealous talking.

B) I know what you mean about the administrator having extra abilities with the site. I also could sometimes use anoyher button for stupid mistakes AFTER others have read them. Kind of like a mind eraser.

Don't worry about Sherene's abundance of gabbing. She is the first one to say she talks to much. We pick on her all in fun. If I thought it was getting out of line I would see to it that it was stopped. She is my wife, woman, partner and friend and I would go up against anything I had to in order to protect her. ;) This image is hidden for guests. Please log in or register to see it.

Here's my question. This appears to be a well arranged site, very nice and easy to navigate, I like it. But where is all of the traffic? Why isn't the site getting more traffic. I'm stumped?

Bigscoop, thanks for that question, and for the fine comments about our site. I will try to answer that question as best I can and I'm sure if I miss anything, one of the old heads will step in and let us know.

This website is relatively new in comparison to some of the other treasure hunting websites that have been around for a very long time. We first brought the website live on the 20th of October 2010, so the site is just 3 and a half years old.

The original concept for the site back in 2008 was as a blog chronicling our journeys around the world in search of lost treasures. However we wanted something a little more interactive than a blog.

We do not advertise the site other than occasionally sponsoring events like the Annual Treasure Hunters Cookout down on the Florida Treasure Coast. Word of mouth and social media among fellow treasure hunters are normally how most folks come across our site.

We are not real interested in using this site to make money, so we are not trying to sell any advertising space or charge any annual membership fees. When we need money, we do our research and go treasure hunting.

If folks are interested in treasure hunting and sharing information about their experiences both good and bad, and if they enjoy the research associated with locating and recovering treasure lost and buried hundreds and even thousands of years ago and they want to share that history with the rest of the world, then they are all welcome to join us here at TreasureWorks.

If they want to talk about religion and politics that is not associated directly to treasure hunting. Then in that case I would suggest that they stay with one of the other sites.

So if you or anyone else reading this are serious about the world of treasure hunting, pick only your like minded friends and invite them to join us here and lets talk about finding lost treasure.

Thanks Wreckdiver, explained very well, and I really like the idea of limiting politics and religion to treasure hunting only. I certainly plan on spending more time here.

On another note. I've not had the chance to get down to the cookout due to some family responsibilities that limit my absence but I do plan on getting down there once all of this is behind me. I hear it's a great event. Thanks for the speedy reply!
